She left the yard on timeafter a winter when the work list only grew

A 48 m motor yacht. The line items we had already priced moved by 1%, and she was redelivered a day ahead of the date in the contract. Her captain has booked 3 winters here and sent 3 more captains after him.

Item 30.1

The work list

You know what a lump-sum quotation looks like. One figure for the main generator, and no way to see what is inside it. We price from a work list instead: the same job line by line, with a quantity, a unit and its hours against every line. It cannot be written until someone has walked the yacht, and the only question is who does it.

Your crew walks her

They already know what has been waiting since the last yard period. We send the format we price from, and the work list comes back in the lines they filled in.

The work list visit

An estimator and an engineer come aboard and build it with your chief engineer. The list is yours to keep whether you book the yard or not.

Where a number depends on what we find once the panels come off, the line says so before you sign it.

Our quotations usually stay within 10% of the figure you signed.

Item 30.2

The quotation

Reviewed 18 Aug 2026

One line item of a real work list, opened all the way down — an example of the quotation format you can expect. Every line item carries its quantity, its unit and its hours, so you can lay ours beside another yard's offer and compare like with like. Amounts are approximate.

The line marked “to be confirmed” has a procedure behind it.

If the condition is not as priced, the line waits: no approval, no continuation.

The hourly rate

from €45
an hour, for labour

Labour here starts at €45 an hour. The same rate applies at weekends and on public holidays — hours that normally carry an overtime premium of 50 to 100%. Across a whole work list, labour comes out about 30% lower here than at a Mediterranean yard. The difference is in the price, not in the work: the same class rules apply, the same makers’ parts go in, and the same certificates end up in the handover file.

Item 30.5

The warranty in the contract

18monthseverything we install or build new
12monthsrepair, overhaul and service of what was already on board

Both terms are written into the contract on the day you sign.

If our work fails inside that window, we put it right at our own cost.

The warranty is a clause in the contract itself, there on the day you sign. It is short enough to read at the table, and short enough to put beside another yard’s terms.

Item 30.6

Papers for the owner’s office

When the owner’s office asks why this yard and not another, there are 3 documents to forward. 2 of the 3 below you have already read — the work list and the quotation; the third is the rate card we quote from. The photographs in them are of the work, not of the yacht.

Who runs the work on board

One project manager is assigned to your yacht before the work starts, on site every day. Every trade on board — the yard’s own engineers and the specialist contractors — works to that schedule, so there is always one person to ask about a job in progress.

Each job is signed off as it finishes, and the snag list is closed before she leaves. Where the maker requires its own engineers — warranty work on main engines and generators, commissioning by the maker — we book the visit and open up the access.

Before you choose

The answers you will need first

Q·1

How far ahead should I book?

About 3 months before arrival, and the reason is logistics: a generator can take 5 months’ lead time, most long-lead equipment 2. Signing early is what buys the parts their place in the schedule.

Q·2

What size of yacht can the yard take?

Motor yachts of 24 to 100 m. Up to 60 m stands under our own cover for a whole winter; larger hulls work afloat or in the dry dock.

Q·3

Can my own representative be on site?

For the whole yard period, yes — with access to the work and to the weekly reporting.

Start with your yacht

Three ways in, and none of them needs a finished work list

Ask for our rates and they come back within one working day; send your work list with the request and the quotation comes back priced against it, line by line. Or speak to the person who would run the project — he will be on site when the panels come off. And if there is no list yet, we come aboard and build it with your crew.
