The record of the yard period
Reviewed 9 Sep 2026She arrived with a work list already costed. While she was here, the owner added another 40% on top of what he had signed — his decision, not a finding of ours.
What matters is what happened to the quotation meanwhile: the lines we had costed before she arrived moved by 1%. The scope grew. The price of the signed work did not.

The generator
The main generator was stripped, rebuilt and back on line in 8 days. 5 contractor teams and our own people worked on it — 12 men at once in a confined space, to a date that could not move.
After the main engine work, vibration was measured by an independent specialist, not by us: in spec on sea trials, at full power and through turns.
Nothing here started on a verbal.

Where the +40% came from
The survey items were the reason she came. Then what happens on any refit happened: some of it only shows up once the covers are off, and some the owner adds while she is out of the water anyway. That is usually what moves the redelivery date. Here it did not — she left a day ahead of the contract.
