The record of the yard period
Reviewed 21 Aug 202648 m motor yacht, relaunched 2026. Two numbers count different things, and both come out of the same quotation.
Added line items were priced and approved before the work started; the lines already priced moved by 1%.
She came in for machinery and left with a longer list than the one she signed
The generator
The main generator was stripped, rebuilt and back on line in 8 days, with 5 contractor teams and our own people working alongside: twelve men at once in a confined space, to a date that could not move.
After the main engine work, vibration was measured by an independent specialist, not by us: in spec on sea trials, at full power and through turns.
Every addition was priced and signed off before anyone picked up a tool, and nothing started on a verbal.
What was on the list, and what came after
She arrived for machinery. The work that grew came from what the panels showed once they were off — and every line of it was priced and agreed before anyone touched it.
Every added line went the same route: finding, number, approval — then work.
What the captain did next
He has been back 3 winters running, and 3 more captains came on his recommendation.
I would definitely recommend them to fellow captains.
